SDS Announces Strategic Partnership with Joshua Cohen, “The Student Loan Lawyer”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ORLANDO, Fla. — Student Debt Solutions (“SDS”), a technology platform focused on helping borrowers navigate federal student loan repayment, forgiveness, default resolution, and bankruptcy-related student loan issues, today announced a strategic partnership with Joshua Cohen, The Student Loan Lawyer, one of the nation’s most recognized student loan attorneys and founder of The Student Loan Law Workshop and Cohen Consumer Law.

As part of the agreement, Cohen will serve in a consulting and strategic advisory role focused on expanding SDS within the bankruptcy and legal marketplace, supporting attorney workflow development, assisting with customer migration initiatives, and helping build a nationwide attorney referral network for student loan discharge litigation and related legal services.

The partnership also includes collaboration on educational initiatives, attorney training, workflow optimization, and future SDS product development aimed at supporting law firms and professionals navigating the increasingly complex student loan landscape.

“Josh has spent years helping borrowers and attorneys understand some of the most complicated areas of student loan law,” said Dave Danielson. “As repayment rules continue to evolve and more borrowers struggle with default, repayment transitions, and bankruptcy-related student loan issues, we believe this partnership significantly strengthens SDS’s ability to support both consumers and the legal professionals serving them.”

Known nationally as “The Student Loan Lawyer,” Cohen has dedicated his legal career to student loan law and consumer protection since 2008. He is widely recognized for his work involving student loan repayment rights, default resolution, bankruptcy discharge litigation, debt collection defense, and borrower advocacy.

Cohen has also trained attorneys nationwide on student loan law issues and created Student Loan Toolbox, a software platform used by attorneys and legal professionals to evaluate student loan repayment and discharge strategies.

“Student loan law has become one of the fastest-changing areas affecting consumers and legal professionals today,” said Joshua Cohen. “What attracted me to SDS is the company’s focus on combining technology, borrower education, and workflow efficiency to help both borrowers and attorneys better navigate these challenges. I believe there is a tremendous opportunity to improve how attorneys evaluate cases, engage borrowers, and integrate student loan analysis into their practices.”

The companies also plan to collaborate on webinars, educational programming, and thought leadership initiatives designed to help attorneys and borrowers better understand evolving federal student loan regulations, repayment changes, and discharge opportunities.

The announcement comes during a period of major transition within the federal student loan system, as borrowers face the sunset of the SAVE repayment plan, upcoming implementation of the new Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP), and increasing complexity surrounding repayment eligibility and bankruptcy-related student loan issues.
